About the Practice

The Puzey Family Practice was formed on 1st May 2005 and named so in recognition of the long dedicated service given to the residents of Rochford by Dr Angela Puzey MBE who, along with Drs Bone, Edwards, Fisher and Timmins, commissioned the building of the premises in 1984.

Southwell House is named in memory of Dr Ben Southwell. It houses two completely separate practices.

Our patients should only attend Windows 2 and 3.

We provide full access and facilities for disabled patients.

Surgery Hours

Monday to Friday 7.15am to 7.00pm (reception open 7.00am to 6.30pm)
Saturdays (emergency surgery only) 8.30 to 11.00am

Disabled Access

The surgery is on one level with easy wheelchair access. There is a fully fitted disabled toilet in the reception area.

Parking

The car parking spaces to the east of Southwell House are for the exclusive use of the medical staff. This is so that the doctors, health visitors, district nurses, visiting consultant, social workers and other attached staff can have access to the surgery. A space is reserved in front of the building for ambulances and for taxis that are sometimes needed by poorly patients. The rest of the car park belongs to the council who are entitled to charge for its use.

What to do if the Surgery is closed

The Puzey Family Practice is staffed from 7.15am to 6.45pm Monday to Friday and 8.30 to 11.00am on Saturdays (emergencies only). There might be times you require medical assistance outside these hours. In this event, if you require urgent attention or advice the doctor can be contacted by telephoning 0845 408 1277 or 01702 533740; your call may be answered by a machine which will give you a short message including a telephone number where the doctor can be reached. In an absolute emergency you can dial 999 and ask for the Ambulance Service. In out of hours emergencies call 0845 850 3194 or, alternatively, for general medical advice telephone NHS Direct on 0845 46 47.
