Shingles vaccination Posted or Updated on 14 Jun 2024

Eligibility varies for Shingles.

If you turned 65 years old after the 1st September 2023 then you are eligible to have the vaccination. You will need to have two injections, 6-12 months apart.

If you are older than 65 or turned 65 before 1st September 2023 you will need to wait until your 70th birthday and you will remain eligible until you turn 80.

If you are severely immunosuppressed, you can be vaccinated sooner, aged 50 and over. This can include types of cancer and medications that suppress your immune system.
